Agreeing with God's Choice versus Our Choice

Focus:  We must use our freedom of choice to agree with God.  When we choose to chase after success rather than following God, we end up in defeat.

Scriptures:

John 6:70

John 13:18

John 15:16, 19

Matthew  16:26

Matthew 8:36

Luke 9:25

Points:

  1. God will use whoever He wants.  His children will know His voice.

  2. If we choose our own success above God, we will end in defeat.

  3. Too many Christians are choosing their purpose and not God's.

  4. The Achilles heel (weakness) in the church today is selfishness.

  5. We must not win others to Christ and loose Him ourselves.

  6. The power of choice can be a blessing or a curse.

Summary:

Lucifer had been blessed by God to be a chief angel.  He was gifted to be an instrument of praise.  Lucifer became the devil because he chose to be a devil.  His choice disagreed with God's.  His choice got him kicked out of heaven.  God gave us the power of choice.  We must use our freedom of choice to agree with God and not ourselves.  Lucifer and God were close.  God had highly exalted him.  Listening to his choice, he felt it wasn't enough.  Too many Christians are choosing their purpose for their lives and not God's purpose for their lives.  This is the Achilles heel in the church today, selfishness.  Selfishness will not obey God.  Jesus was sent so we can unlock from the old Adam to be free to choose God's way.  We will agree with one or the other, the human nature we inherited from the first Adam or the Spirit of God we inherited through Jesus.  God chose our purpose before we were even born.  If we use our free will to seek after success following our choices that don't line up with God, we will end up in defeat.  Money is temporary.  What would it profit us to gain financial success and lose our souls.  Our life does not consist of the things we posses.  Power of choice can be a blessing or a curse.  Use it wisely to choose Jesus.
