Following the Influence of God, Not Money
Focus: In Money We Trust vs. In God We Trust
Scriptures:
|
Luke 16:9-13 1 Timothy 6:17 |
Romans 12:1-2 | Romans 10:11 |
Points:
Money is supposed to be used to promote God's purpose.
If we use money to serve God and mankind, when our life ends, we will receive a reward.
The human nature doesn't love God's wisdom.
We must trust God, not finances.
If you love anything more than God, it's hard for you to be saved.
Summary:
No servant is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise the other. You can not serve God and mammon. The scriptures challenge our life to either put our faith in God or money. When you fall in love with money, you give up your right to your mansion in heaven. People who are wealthy are suppose to bless those who are less fortunate and not serve themselves. Giving is an expression of love. The love of money will blind you from hearing the Word of God rightly. If your decisions are based mainly on money, chances are, you are a servant of money. If your decisions are based on the Word of God, chances are, you are a servant of God. You decide who is a better master, money or God. Everything that money can not do-God can.
