The Resurrection Power of God
Focus:
Scriptures:
|
Philippians 3:10 |
Romans 8:35 |
Isaiah 15:33 |
Points:
Power comes through accepting Jesus. Speaking in tongues is not the resurrection.
Some seminaries, through competition and emphasis on "additives", take power from the gospel.
We must have a relationship based on communication with God--through reading His Word.
You can't leave the spirit of the world because you feel like it.
Some church members are laying on the couch instead of leaning on the cross. Psychology is even accepted over the Word by some pastors.
Summary:
Resurrection power is the power that causes us to walk in the Spirit as opposed to walking in our sin nature. This power is attained by accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour. The power comes through the Word of God. Some pastors and seminaries emphasize grade point averages and hermeneutics (aka "additives"). In some churches psychology has replaced the preaching of the cross. Only the Word has the power to change our hearts and minds. It is only through communication with God through prayer and Bible study that we can have the power of Christ's Resurrection.
