Points:
Jesus supported women in His ministry and they served faithfully.
Christians must do all things as unto God.
We must not let the cares of this life choke the Word.
If we allow the Holy Ghost to lead and guide us in understanding the scriptures and our path in life, we will get a lot of rest.
Summary:
Women worked faithfully in the ministry of Jesus. Such devout women as Lydia and Tabitha ministered to the needs of Jesus, who was not prejudice against women. They played an important part in His ministry. Mary Magdalene and other women were among the first to preach Jesus' resurrection. Some of the women had families. Joanna was the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward. It is obvious that she did not let natural family ties hinder her from work in the ministry. Women must not get discouraged from working in the ministry and being a servant because of opposition that may come. Historically, women were looked at as second class citizens, but Jesus did not treat them that way. In Jesus, there is no male or female, Jew or Greek. Even though the twelve apostles were all male, Jesus had female followers that helped to spread the Gospel, too.
